Uig Bay is one of the most impressive coastal landscapes in the Outer Hebrides – vast sands framed by hills and crofts.

  • Main access to Ardroil Beach is through the village of Ardroil on the south side of the bay

  • Look out for the large wooden chessman statue, celebrating the discovery of the 12th-century Lewis Chessmen nearby in 1831

Explore the beaches to the north of Uig Bay:

  • Kneep Beach

  • Valtos Beach

  • Reef Beach
